Project Archaeology will transform your classroom into a community of student archaeologists who ask questions, make observations and support their inferences with evidence, analyze primary sources, relate culture to their own lives, and passionately share what they learn in a variety of ways.

Discover the past through evidence from a rock art site in Minnesota! You will participate as a learner in Project Archaeology: Investigating Rock Art. After the course you will be able to teach 3rd – 12th grade students about rock art in an effective way that aligns to common core state standards. Experience engaging instruction with Project Archaeology’s award-winning curricula, master teachers, and archaeologists.

Explore how archaeologists study rock art to understand past cultures. Using archaeological inquiry, you will observe an authentic rock art panel at Jeffers Petroglyphs and make inferences. The course will transform your perception of the past. You will start to think like an archaeologist as you apply the tools of scientific inquiry to the investigation of the past, art, and culture. The course and curriculum will teach integrative, inquiry-based methods for social studies and art instruction. Bring Project Archaeology back to your classroom to share all the exciting things you learned with your students!

The registration deadline is June 1, 2019. Contact Courtney Agenten, cagenten@blc.edu, 507.344.7727 if you have any questions.
