This March, we are excited to get back into the classroom and host our first Project Archaeology workshop post-COVID! Project Archaeology is a national program, supported by the Institute of Heritage Education (IHE) and Southern Utah University at a national level – and by our very own OKPAN and OU in Oklahoma! In this workshop, you will learn how to teach about archaeology and heritage with confidence using the 3rd-5th grade curriculum, Project Archaeology: Investigating Shelter (2009). This curriculum guide uses hands-on inquiry of real archaeological data to teach how archaeologists and those whose ancestors lived at sites understand the past. Whether you are a teacher in the classroom or an archaeologist passionate about education, we want you! The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 9 AM to 4 PM in the Damphousse Community Room (9th floor of Dale Hall Tower) at University of Oklahoma in Norman. For $20, you will get a copy of the curriculum guide, hands-on experience learning the curriculum from OKPAN’s expert staff, about other educational resources available in our state, and free lunch!
