Virtual Project Archaeology Workshop
Full-Scholarships Available for 20 Educators

Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2020 virtual Project Archaeology Investigating Shelter workshop. A total of 20 full-scholarship seats will be available for this workshop. Applications are due Friday, Aug. 28, 2020 by 5 p.m. Workshop applications are available here.

This five-week, self-paced virtual workshop will start on Monday, Sept. 28 and end on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020. Participants will learn first-hand how to help students practice the basics of inquiry-based learning through cross-curricular lessons that teach archaeology and cultural understanding. Archaeology is an excellent tool for cross-curricular education. Subjects covered in the workshop will include science, mathematics, social studies, history, language arts, geography, and the arts.

While this curriculum is structured for grades 3 – 5, all K – 12 educators are encouraged to apply. Many concepts within the curriculum can be taught across all grade levels. Educators employed in S.C. public school districts may be eligible to receive professional development credit for completing this workshop. Please contact your district’s coordinator for approval of credit.

University students majoring in education, anthropology, archaeology or museum studies are also encouraged to apply. As are individuals who specialize in education and public outreach within museum and archaeology settings.
