Join us for a journey through the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem by exploring the area’s archaeological record. When we think of Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding areas, we usually think about spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and the famous geothermal features. Indigenous peoples have been part of this landscape for at least 10,000 years and their descendants still claim an intimate connection with our nation’s first national park. Discover how native peoples adapted to this beautiful landscape and how they used the resources available at all elevations within and surrounding the Park. Show your students a side of Yellowstone that they have never seen before while fulfilling your requirements in science, social studies, language arts, and graphic arts.
