FREE Grades 3-5 Teacher Workshop

Are you interested in expanding your knowledge on cultural sensitivity, learning about local indigenous tribes, and their connections to archaeological sites in the Four Corners? Canyons of the Ancients National Monument is hosting a free 3-day summer teacher workshop July 23-25th designed for any educator who wants to learn more and dive deeper into our nation’s heritage. Join park rangers, archaeologists, anthropologists and indigenous tribal members in an immersive workshop that shares hands-on lessons and activities from Project Archaeology - Investigating Shelter. This curriculum was designed for 3-5th grades but can be scaled up or down to suite your needs. The workshop includes lunch each day, site tours to Escalante, Dominguez and Lowry Pueblos, hands-on learning activities, and special guests from indigenous tribes who will share their perspectives and encourage open discussions on misinformation and cultural sensitivity. We encourage teachers from all backgrounds to apply.     *SCROLL TO BOTTOM FOR MORE DETAILS AND A MAP*
