Marquette History MuseumLearn first-hand how to help students engage in inquiry-based learning through cross-curricular, student-centered lessons, place-based experiences, and meaningful interactions with Indigenous educators. The Project Archaeology: Investigating Shelter curriculum is aligned to 3-5th grade standards and helps educators expand and deepen social studies content for elementary and secondary students.

At this workshop participants will

  • experience each lesson as a learner through modeled instruction

  • analyze historic data related to authentic archaeological sites
  • discover new ways to engage students at museums and archaeological sites
